Byblos by SFB
Signing his work with his initials, SfB, Stéphane franck Berthelot sketches his own path with the tools of his time, creating works that are in tune with today’s world and which express his singular personal quest.
His works have found new homes far & wide, attracting admiring eyes the world over, including the USA, Italy, Sweden, India, Spain, Australia, Russia and Portugal… One of his pieces, “Néons 55”, is indeed on show in the Salon de la Cartographie at the Elysée Palace, the official Parisian residence of the French President.
SfB is a prolific artist, mapping out his creative journey on paper with crayons, felt-tips, pastel paints and ink, or on his tablet with a digital pointer, subsequently printing out his creation onto high quality artist’s paper. Stéphane franck Berthelot plots his own way through a variety of shapes and personal geometry in which disequilibrium finds balance, where chaos creates an alternative organization and where colour is brought powerfully into play to express “the unshakeable desire to exist, to be visible, to be neither forgotten nor wilfully abandoned”. Vibrant, undulating compositions “to come out from the darkness of the maze into the bright light of day” and escape the clutches of the minotaur…
